Asked Questions

|
Q. |
What is NeoRacer? |
|
A. |
The NeoRacer is a
portable fitness bike equipped with magnetic
resistance for smooth pedal motion across all
tension levels. Lower resistances are good for
warming up and for rehabilitation. Higher
resistances can be used for both cardiovascular
exercise and to build muscle mass. The bike can
even be placed on a table top to exercise the
arms and shoulders. Its compact size allows it
to be used almost anywhere, and then easily
stored when not in use.
The NeoRacer comes
in two versions.
-
The "Basic
version" includes the NeoRacer bike with a
fitness computer that displays speed, time
and distance.
-
The "Game
version" includes built-in game controller
circuitry that interfaces to a
Playstation, PS2 and a PC.
The “Game” version turns exercise into
exertainment. It takes you one step closer to
actually being in the game. You control your
speed by pedaling and use the game controller
for everything else. The faster you peddle
the faster you go. The NeoRacer works with
most racing and driving games on
Playstation®™ PS2® and PC.

game controller. |

Q. |
Who uses NeoRacer? |
|
A. |
NeoRacer is designed to be used
by nearly anyone. It can be used as a single
standalone unit, or as many as four can play
together. |
|
|
|
|
Q. |
Are all games compatible with NeoRacer? |
|
A. |
Not all, but many are. The pedal motion can be
assigned to nearly any button (including the
joystick) on the controller.

|
Q. |
What other features does the NeoRacer
have? |
|
A. |
The workout intensity can be adjusted by
increasing the force required to turn the
pedals. This is achieved by a
smooth, quiet friction-free magnetic resistance
that is applied to the flywheel. There is an electronic
display built into the bike which will provide
information on time, speed and distance. |

What has been said about NeoRacer
|
|
“My daily fitness routine used to
involve cycling round the local
roads during evening rush hour until
I was given a NeoRacer
bike as a present. What used to be a
punishing workout for me is now
entertainment with the additional
benefit of getting fit. I never used
to be a fan of computer games but
now as a motivational tool you cant
get me off them every time I get a
free moment at home I connect the
bike up to my PC and off I go. As
cardiovascular fitness goes this is
the tops why didn’t someone think of
it before?”

“I recently purchased the 'NeoRacer'
bike for my teenage children. The idea
was if they were to spend hours on a
Playstation®™
then it was better that they did so
whilst exercising. The result has been
amazing. Not only are they keen to use
the 'NeoRacer' but they
are actually into the concept of the
extra competitive nature associated with
speed on the PlayStation®™
game and there own physical efforts on
the bike. As well as proving a great
success with the kids both my wife and I
now use the PlayStation®™
which we never did before getting the
NeoRacer, as quite
simply it is proving a great way to get
fitter whilst not noticing the typical
boredom and effort usually associated
with going to the gym! Perfect for all
the family.” |

“I think the NeoRacer
bike is brilliant, the faster I peddled
the faster I went. It is great fun you
are exercising when you are sitting
down. I recommend the NeoRacer
to any child or adult who likes video
games.” |

"It is good exercise but fun at the same
time. Also rather than having to find
time to go to the gym you can take 15
minutes or so a day. I know it is a
problem to get children to go and
exercise so it means they can go and
enjoy it with friends but also get fit.
This saves all the trouble going jogging
or cycling. It can be used with many
different games e.g. car games, bike
games and snowboarding games. It can be
used with a PlayStation®™
or a computer. Once you start you can
become quite addicted to it so you want
to keep playing. It does become quite
hard work but you just need a 5 minute
rest then you can play again. Overall I
think that it is a very good idea and I
would recommend it to anyone. It
strengthens your legs so it will help
you do football, rugby or any type of
martial arts. This is a very good idea
and I think that everyone should get
one." |

“I visited an exhibition in Birmingham
and came across a stand showing an
fitness bike which you could use with a
PlayStation®™.
I had a go on it myself and played a
game called Total Immersion Racing. I
played for three races and could not
believe getting fit could be so much
fun. To make the race car go forward you
had to peddle and to make the car go
faster you had to peddle faster, it was
awesome.” |
